Enormous protest against SSC after suspected paper leak & group cheating in CGL Tier 2 examination.
The Staff selection commission (SSC) and Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) has been surrounded once again by serious issues.
Students have literally come to the streets of Delhi protesting together in thousands against “group cheating in the exams”.
They are also protesting against the Alleged paper leak. This exam took place from August 5 to August 24 last year. The protestors are demanding a CBI (central bureau of investigation) inquiry for the suspected paper leak of the examination paper.
The SSC exams takes place to recruit staff for numerous central ministries and subsidiary departments. Every single year over lakhs of students appears in the exam to redeem their hard work for a government job. This exam also includes posts like lower division clerks, stenographers, central excise inspectors, income tax inspectors and central police organizations.
What exactly happened?
Astonishingly this about 1,89,843 students appeared for the exams of SSC CGL Tier II. This exam took place between February 17 and February 22. The exam took place successfully in 206 centers without any issues. However, SSC had to cancel the second shift of this exam at Animate Infotech on February 17. Followed by this SSC again had to cancel the exam in the morning shift of 21 February. It was found that screenshots of the question paper with answers were found on various social media sites. After this SSC had to reschedule the exam for March 9. However, the candidates the accusing “mass cheating”. They only want a proper CBI inquiry for this blunder.
Despite taking strict measures against cheating in the examination hall. Students are very disappointed by the fact that the question paper itself got leaked before the exam. Now the crowd is accusing the SSC staff that it’s an inside job. They are continuously chanting the slogans “We demand justice” and “We want a CBI inquiry”. There’s has been a massive outrage against the media both at the venue and social media channels.
It is not a new problem in SSC, cases of corruption are common in SSC. Recently, Sudhir Kumar, the chairman of BSSC (Bihar Staff Selection Commission) got arrested for a connection with similar accusations of question paper leak.
Justice yet to be served!
If we consider the unemployment rate in India. Above all, this SSC scam becomes a huge conflict to Modi Government’s promise of transparent nature of recruiting process in government jobs. Whether the students get their justice is yet to witness. Everyone is fixing their eyeballs on the judicial process of the country.
